Social Skills Groups

I am an experienced group facilitator with over 15 years experience providing tailored, evidenced based workshops to adults and young people on a range of topics including social skills development, self care, mental health awareness, understanding and supporting neurodiversity, emotional intelligence, self care and preventing carer burnout.

These social skills workshops are designed based on the PEERs model, the only evidenced based social skills training program.   These are small group workshops (max 8 participants) are neuroaffirming and build self esteem and confidence in social settings,  Each group is designed to be fun, practical and age appropriate, focussing on decoding/interpreting social cues, healthy relationships (including tackling how to handle bullying behaviours), finding your friendship group and conversation starters.  Participants are carefully selected for each group to ensure that individual and group needs can be accommodated and provide a valuable opportunity to create connections that extend beyond the workshop.

There are two types of workshops available - a 5 day bootcamp to build confidence prior to returning to school, and an intensive 8 week program running weekly throughout the school term.  NDIS participants may be eligible to funding to access these valuable programs.
